Junior Sausage Competition 2017 – Entry Form
The Junior Sausage Competition will identify all young aspiring cooks and butchers, and now is their chance to design and create their own champion sausage.
The Junior Sausage Competition is run by Butchery Excellence International in conjunction with your local BEI registered butcher shop.
WHAT is the Junior Sausage Competition?
Each young person is asked to come up with a new and interesting flavour of sausage that they would like to see available in their local butcher shop. Each Entry will be judged by an industry expert panel vetted up by Rhonda Montgomery (CEO of Butchery Excellence) and Sean Owens (Chairman of Judges).
A winner will be selected from each school and will progress to represent their team in the All Ireland Junior Sausage Competition.
Each selected Winner will spend time with their local butcher, manufacturing their winning sausage to beput on sale in their local butcher shop. This is a fantastic opportunity that gives them a special chance to be in a professional working environment, learning how to make sausages and to gain experience with some of today’s interesting butchery technology.
Entrants must be aged between 7-10 years of age and the ingredients must be sensible – no sweets and ice-cream ingredients are allowed.
WHAT is in it for you?
This years winner of the All Ireland Junior Sausage Competition will receive a BRAND NEW APPLE IPAD for their school, and will have their winning sausage on sale at their local BEI butchers. Each entry will receive a certificate of participation.
The overall winner will get an invite to the Butchery Excellence International annual awards dinner to collect the iPad for the school. Photos will be taken for local press, social media and the Butchery Excellence website. A radio interview with the champion will be organised at a date to suit the school.
