COMPETITION CATEGORY SCHEDULE

15th & 16th March 2019

 

RULES

ARTICLE 1

On March 15th and 16th, the guild of the “Goute-Boudin” (Tasters of black pudding) will be holding its 57th International Competition for the Best Black Pudding.

ARTICLE 2

The competition will take place on Friday and Saturday.

 

ARTICLE 3

Who may participate in the competition:

– All foreign artisan pork butchers.

– Apprentice pork butcher on behalf of his mentor.

– Competitors will have to certify, on their honor, that they have, themselves, made the products entered.

– Any bio product will be under competitors’ responsibility.

 

ARTICLE 4

Category creative (with a minimum of 30% of blood) will be judged at a national level.

 

ARTICLE 5

Competitors should address their registration(s) before Friday, March 8th 2019 to :

They should give (in black letters) their surname, first name, address, phone and Email.

 

ARTICLE 6

The registration fee is of 50,00 EUROS for each sample. One sample must be sent either by credit transfer attached to the registration form to the order of “Concours du Meilleur Boudin Mortagne” or by credit card by the web

Under no circumstances will the registration fee be refunded.

 

ARTICLE 7

Competitors should bring or send 800 grams of black pudding made from cooked blood before noon on Thursday March 14th 2019.

The parcels will be kept in a refrigerator until the competition begins.

To ensure that the goods arrive in best condition, we advise competitors to send their parcels by express post. The maximum postage weight in France is one kilogram.

The parcels must be tied with string only, to conform to customs regulations.

No complaints for deterioration during transport will be accepted.

Any parcel sent “postage due” will be refused.

(For any transport mode we do recommend to use vacuum packaging)

 

ARTICLE 8

Competitors will include in their parcels a sealed envelope containing their full name and address (in black letters) with the imprint of their trade stamp.

There must be no identification marks on the outside of the envelope.

The computer will assign a serial number to each entry. Until the end of the competition, the computer alone will hold the list of competitors and their corresponding numbers.

 

ARTICLE 9

Under the presidency of the Grand Master of the Guild of the Knights of Goûte-Boudin :

– a preselection committee composed of tradesmen, members of the guild and public will meet on the afternoon of Friday March 15th and will choose the products to be entered in the competition.

– the Grand Jury of the competition composed of distinguished members from the pork trade and members of the guild will judge the final competition on Saturday March 16th.

 

ARTICLE 10

The black pudding will be tasted cold and not grilled.

 

ARTICLE 11

It is understood that the awards won in the competition recognizes the quality of the product for ONLY one year.

In case of multiple entries for the same candidate only the best prize will be taken into account in each category.

In case of termination of activity, the new owner cannot use any awards of his predecessor(s).

 

ARTICLE 12

The competition results will be announced in the guild’s website from the Sunday afternoon.

The awards will be distributed on March 30th (during the Chapter) and March 31st 2019 or sent by post to those not present on these dates.

 

ARTICLE 13

The guild cannot be held responsible for cancellation of the competition in case of accident or in case of absolute necessity.
